Tips on Using Social Networks to Promote a Business

If you're using Facebook, Twitter, Sokule and other social networking sites as a means of networking for business, where are a few things I can suggest.
  1. You should update your status often. This helps to keep you in people's memory. A good reminder for the message you want to deliver: You should delete all of those things that people write on your wall (example pillow fights, smiley faces, hearts, etc.). But keep their personal postings and comment on those. By doing this, people will be able to see all of your statuses...the message you want them to see.
  2. If you've read some good informational books and articles, you should list them on your profile. This just adds on to the credibility of your expertise. Maybe even add a few quotes.
  3. It's okay to list your date of birth, but it's is not wise to post the 'year'. There are just too many hackers out there who are looking for personal information.
